Assistive Technology
(AT) Program |
The Assistive Technology program provides information about
computers and assistive technology that support the independence
and well-being of people with impaired vision. Our AT specialist
provides hands-on demonstrations of selected products; and offers
individual instruction in their use for the following:
- External speech synthesizers
- Screen reading software
- Scanners
- Optical character readers
- Personal readers
- Braille translators/printers
- Large display monitor
- Screen enlargement software
Information and referrals via telephone are free. Demonstrations
and tutorials are available at the agency's main office in Seattle,
Washington; appointments are required. Demonstrations are free
for first 1.5 hours, then $25 per hour; individual tutorials are
$25 per two-hour session.
