Founded as a private, non-profit agency in 1965, CSBPS has developed into the Northwest's leading vision rehabilitation agency specializing in helping individuals develop strategies and skills designed to enhance safety and independence despite vision loss. CSBPS is registered with the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and is on file with the Washington State Secretary of State (800) 332-GIVE). The agency is governed by a volunteer board of directors.

CSBPS Programs and Services are funded through a variety of sources. In 2007, 87 percent of net revenues raised went directly to programs and services for visually impaired people in the community. Please see our table of funding sources for a breakdown of our 2007 funding sources.
